New Haifa Port

Leading port doubles its area with advanced underwater development.

The Haifa port was expanded to double its original size in two phases—the Carmel Port and the New Haifa Port. SeaTech Marine Construction Ltd. was active in marine and underwater work in both stages. SeaTech was the sole contractor for marine and diving work at the Carmel Port, and was engaged in marine and diving work together with other contractors at the New Haifa Port. The total area of Haifa port was more than doubled as a result of the two projects.

The Challenge

1

The extremely harsh visual conditions in Haifa Port are the worst in Israel—visibility is limited to 0-40 cm.

2

The area is near the Kishon River estuary and is extremely polluted.

3

Continuous vessel movement during operations further complicated the project.

4

Needs were dynamic and constantly changing.

“SeaTech performed a variety of complex underwater tasks for this project including above and underwater welding, piping, anchor support, concrete casting, dredging, and marine construction . Everything was completed with precision, efficiency, and the highest level of safety. They got everything done on time, and we are fully satisfied with their work.”
